Original abstract painting inspired by the urban textures surrounding me as a child in the projects of South Boston. Warm, rich colors are layered spontaneously using intuition, scrapers, palette knife edges, deep vulnerability, and loads of dirty water.
The muted tones in this work reminded me of industrial scenes from growing up which led me to the word 'rig'. That reminded me of Riggins from one of my all-time favorite TV shows, Friday Night Lights and the name stuck.
