Loose Cannon 8x10
When the only way out is on one wheel.
Sometimes the circus is a cage, and we just gotta get out. A playful—and slightly ominous—look at the reality of a unicycling clown on the lam. This piece was created for the SCAA Gallery’s HighWire: Under the Big Top exhibit, where I traded my scrapers for scissors and my grit for a bit of circus magic.
Against a muted, moody sky of pink and purple, this "HighWire" original mixed media collage features a striped clown in a hurry; busting outta town for some breath. Built from hand-cut scrapbook paper and layers of acrylic, it captures the spontaneous tension of a wonky balloon and a getaway unicycle. It’s a B-side exploration of resilience—because even a clown knows when it’s time to roll.
